Prove and apply similarity theorems about triangles.
• Include multi-step proofs and algebraic problems built upon
these concepts.
• Examples of theorems include but are not limited to:
o If a line parallel to one side of a triangle intersects the
other two sides of the triangle, then the line divides these two
sides proportionally (and conversely) .
o The length of the altitude drawn from the vertex of the right
angle of a right triangle to its hypotenuse is the geometric mean
between the lengths of the two segments of the hypotenuse.
o The centroid of the triangle divides each median in the ratio
2:1. |
